Memories I've been meaning to make.

For over 15 years, I’ve been the one behind the camera — capturing other people’s happiest moments, their once-in-a-lifetime memories.

But behind every frame I’ve taken… were many of my own moments that I quietly let go of.

Family gatherings, birthdays, little things that may seem small — I missed them. Because this job requires me to show up… not for myself, but for others.

This trip to Hong Kong was a small act of redemption.

A quiet attempt to take back some of the time I’ve lost — especially with my mom, and my family.

I’m also deeply grateful for my life partner — my wife — who gave me her full support to go and spend this time with my mom and family. Her presence, even from afar, meant everything.

One of the reasons I came here was to pick up a camera I’ve waited months for. I had it shipped to my grandfather’s home, not just because it was convenient, but because it gave me a reason to visit him — and take my mom on a short, meaningful trip.

The camera is special — a large format, handheld film camera. It has many limitations, and maybe that’s why I didn’t focus on taking a lot of photos this time.

I just wanted to be present. To live it. To feel it.

My first shot with this camera?

It was out of focus. Not perfect at all.

Many of the other frames were flawed too — overexposed, shaky, full of light leaks.

But that’s okay.

Because I’m not perfect either.

And maybe… that’s what makes life more beautiful. More honest. More human.

I’ll always be grateful to the people who trust me with their most precious moments.

But this time,

this was my turn.

To capture my own memories — with the people I love.
